Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Neurosurgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Al Ain . The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnosis, surgical treatment, and follow-up care for patients with disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Specialist will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered neurosurgical care while contributing to the hospital's commitment to clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of neurosurgical conditions.

  • Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures within the scope of specialist practice.

  • Treat conditions including:

  • Brain tumors

  • Traumatic brain and spinal injuries

  • Degenerative spine disorders

  • Hydrocephalus

  • Intracranial hemorrhage

  • Cerebrovascular disorders

  • Peripheral nerve disorders

  • Spinal trauma and disc disease

  • Interpret diagnostic investigations, including CT, MRI, angiography, and neurophysiological studies.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care.

  • Participate in emergency and trauma call rotations as required.

  • Collaborate with neurologists, intensivists, orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, continuing medical education (CME), and departmental meetings.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments and advances in neurosurgery.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of specialist training in Neurosurgery.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist Neurosurgeon in a reputable hospital.
  • Western education and/or clinical experience (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH Specialist License (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Demonstrated expertise in cranial and spinal neurosurgery.
  • Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.
