Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – DCAS

Job Summary

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing pre-hospital emergency care and transportation to patients in line with Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) protocols and international standards. The EMT ensures rapid response, patient stabilization, and safe transfer to healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilites

  • Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Provide basic life support (BLS) and emergency medical care
  • Conduct patient assessment (vital signs, history, physical exam)
  • Administer first aid, oxygen, CPR, and use AED when required
  • Safely transport patients to hospitals or medical facilities
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch and medical teams
  • Ensure ambulance readiness (equipment, medications, hygiene)
  • Follow DCAS clinical protocols and infection control standards
  • Accurately complete patient care reports (PCRs)
  • Support mass casualty incidents and disaster response when required

Qualifications :

  • Diploma or Certification in Emergency Medical Services / EMT
  • Valid EMT License (DCAS / DOH / DHA / MOH preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
  • Minimum 2+ years of EMT experience (ambulance/emergency setting)

Skills :

  • Strong emergency response and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of pre-hospital care protocols
  • Ability to work under pressure in critical situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical fitness for lifting and patient handling
  • Familiarity with ambulance equipment and monitoring devices

Work Environment

  • Field-based role (ambulance / emergency response units)
  • Rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Exposure to high-pressure and critical care situations
