Echo Technician

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Echo Technician based in Jiddah. As an Echo Technician, day-to-day responsibilities will include performing and analyzing echocardiograms, supporting non-invasive cardiology procedures, and collaborating with medical professionals to provide accurate diagnoses. The role requires strict adherence to healthcare protocols and an emphasis on patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiography procedures including transthoracic echocardiograms (2D Echo, Doppler, and Color Flow studies) as requested by physicians.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately before examinations and explain procedures clearly.
• Operate echocardiography equipment efficiently to obtain accurate diagnostic images and measurements.
• Assist cardiologists during stress echocardiography and other specialized cardiac procedures when required.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal findings or patient concerns immediately.
• Ensure proper documentation of examination findings and maintain accurate patient records.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of ultrasound equipment and examination rooms.
• Follow infection control policies, patient safety standards, and hospital regulations at all times.
• Coordinate patient appointments and maintain smooth workflow within the cardiology department.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information in compliance with hospital policies.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, training programs, and continuing medical education.
• Adhere to the standards and regulations of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Cardiac Technology, Echocardiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or related field.
• Valid classification and registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as an Echo Technician / Cardiac Sonographer.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in echocardiography services is preferred.
