Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities & Authorities
1. Planning & Design

• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations.
• Use engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, etc.) for design and modeling.
• Develop cost estimates, project timelines, and resource plans.

2. Project Management

• Oversee and coordinate construction activities on-site.
• Ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, architects, and regulatory authorities.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.

3. Site Supervision

• Inspect construction work to verify compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
• Issue site instructions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

4. Quality Assurance

• Review and approve technical drawings and contractor submissions.
• Perform quality checks, audits, and testing procedures.
• Troubleshoot design and construction issues.

Skills/Experience required

• Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering (Master s preferred for senior roles).
• Professional certification (PE, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• 3 10+ years of experience depending on the job level.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, ETABS, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
• Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
• Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
• Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
• Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
