Clinical Pathologist

Job Summary

The Clinical Pathologist will be responsible for supervising all laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with medical standards, and providing expert interpretation of laboratory test results to support clinical decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic and analytical skills with a focus on quality assurance and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all laboratory activities and personnel.
• Perform and interpret results from hematology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, and other diagnostic tests.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all lab results through regular quality control checks.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) in accordance with MOHAP and international standards.
• Review and authorize laboratory reports before release.
• Advise clinicians on appropriate test selection, interpretation, and correlation with clinical conditions.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
• Provide guidance and training to laboratory technologists and staff.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• MD / Board Certification / Specialization in Clinical Pathology or equivalent.
• Valid UAE MOH/DHA/DOH license or eligibility for the same.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and reporting standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
