Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients with physical impairments, musculoskeletal conditions, neurological disorders, and functional limitations, ensuring patient-centered and evidence-based treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring physical medicine and rehabilitation services.
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans for patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopedic, spinal cord, and chronic pain conditions.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and nursing teams.
  • Perform rehabilitation procedures such as joint injections, spasticity management, and pain management interventions where applicable.
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation cases.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to optimize functional recovery and quality of life.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding rehabilitation goals and long-term care plans.
  • Ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and CME activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
  • Board Certification / Fellowship in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
  • Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in PM&R.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in a reputed rehabilitation or tertiary care hospital.
  • Strong expertise in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.
  • Exposure to sports rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS) is an advantage.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary rehabilitation centers.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural healthcare environment.
