Continuity Officer-Readiness & Business Continuity

JOB DESCRIPTION The Continuity Officer will collaborate with service leaders and nominated business continuity champions to develop and implement plans that anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and maintains the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
- Assists with organizational risk assessments and hazard vulnerability analysis.
- Guides and oversees the development of business impact analysis and continuity plans.
- Collaborates with IT and HIM teams to ensure data storage, management and recovery best practices are applied.
- Facilitates and educates relevant internal stakeholders in current BCMS practices.
- Prepares periodic reports as required by the BCMS.
- Identifies instances of non-compliance with regulatory requirements and provides recommendations to ensure conformity.
- Participates in internal and external audit processes to support auditors with BCMS work samples and evidentiary explanations as required.
- Conducts ‘off cycle’ review of business impact analysis and continuity plans as required i.e., the introduction of new services or changes to existing services within the Hospital.
- Provides support business continuity during emergency response and recovery through HICS contributions and providing advice to institutional leadership.
- Maintains compliance with local and federal regulations, and JCI standards
- Delivers the work products associated with the Business Continuity Officer outlined in the Readiness and Continuity Programs responsibility matrix.
- Provides program activity reports to the Readiness and Continuity Manager
- Oversees and makes recommendations on improvement opportunities and BCMS workflows
Accountabilities
QUALIFICATIONS Experience :-
Required
- 4-6 years of relevant progressive experience in a similar role.
Desired
- Experience in a large healthcare facility
Educational Qualification: Required:
- Professional Certificate in Crisis Management, Emergency Preparedness, Safety and Security or other relevant specialization or at least 5 years’ experience working in the emergency preparedness field
Desired
- Post-graduate qualification in emergency management
