Job Summary
The Elderly Care Nurse is responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to elderly patients in home care, community care, or healthcare facility settings. The role focuses on promoting health, maintaining independence, managing chronic conditions, and improving the overall quality of life of elderly individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for elderly patients.
- Monitor vital signs, health status, and changes in patients' conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, hygiene, feeding, and personal care when required.
- Manage chronic illnesses including diabetes, hypertension, dementia, and other age-related conditions.
- Provide wound care, catheter care, and other nursing procedures as needed.
- Educate patients and family members on health management, medication compliance, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, nursing notes, and care plans.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, caregivers, and family members to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient conditions.
- Ensure patient safety, dignity, privacy, and emotional well-being at all times.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and healthcare regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Valid UAE nursing license (SHA, or MOH) or eligibility.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in elderly care, home healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care.
- BLS/CPR certification preferred.
