Job Summary

The General Practitioner (GP) is responsible for providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various medical conditions. The GP ensures high standards of patient care in accordance with the clinical guidelines and regulations of the Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical care and consultations for patients of all age groups.
• Conduct thorough patient history taking and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.
• Request and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic investigations.
• Provide preventive healthcare services including vaccinations, health screenings, and lifestyle counseling.
• Manage minor medical procedures within the approved scope of practice.
• Refer patients to specialists or hospitals when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and patient safety standards.
• Educate patients regarding disease prevention, treatment plans, and health promotion.
• Follow clinic policies, DOH regulations, and ethical medical practices.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education programs.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Valid DOH / HAAD License as a General Practitioner or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions
• Knowledge of DOH regulations and healthcare standards
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
