GYNECOLOGY NURSE (DOH LICENSED)

Job Description – Gynecology Registered Nurse

Department: Obstetrics & Gynecology
Reports To: Clinic Supervisor

Job Summary

The Gynecology Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care to patients attending the Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic. The nurse assists physicians during examinations and procedures, performs patient assessments, administers medications, provides patient education, maintains accurate medical records, and ensures compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi regulations, infection prevention and control standards, and Central Clinic policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to gynecology patients.
• Prepare patients for consultations, examinations, and minor procedures.
• Assist physicians during gynecological examinations and procedures.
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after treatment.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document all nursing interventions.
• Educate patients on women's health, family planning, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Adhere to infection prevention and control practices and patient safety standards.
• Handle specimens according to established protocols and coordinate with the approved third-party laboratory.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, clinical audits, competency assessments, and mandatory training.
• Report incidents, adverse events, and safety concerns in accordance with clinic policies.
• Comply with all applicable DOH Abu Dhabi regulations, ethical standards, and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Valid DOH Registered Nurse License (or eligibility).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience; experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology is preferred.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
