Junior Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is essential in supporting the organization’s financial health through timely reporting, reconciliations, and audit readiness.

Job Description

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts by accurately recording financial transactions.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure all supporting documentation is complete and in compliance with company policies.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of materials for internal and external audits.
• Monitor and process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expense reports.
• Ensure accurate billing and timely collection of receivables.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships; investigate and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Track and report budget vs. actual performance, highlighting significant variances.
• Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, GST, corporate tax) in coordination with external consultants or tax authorities.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with financial regulations and internal control policies.
• Implement recommendations from audits to improve financial processes.
• Maintain and enhance accounting systems, suggesting improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Excel functions for analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
