Junior Health Informatics Officer

Purpose and Scope of the Job
Act as a liaison between clinicians and the IT team to determine end-user Electronic Medical Record (EMR) requirements, design workflows, perform functional testing, and conduct end user training.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret patient, medical-related, or information systems data to improve clinical services.
- Analyze computer and information technologies to determine applicability to health practice administration and back-office functions.
- Design, develop, select, test, implement, and evaluate new or modified informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support mechanisms to support clinical workflows and information management.
- Develop or deliver training programs for health information technology, creating operating manuals as needed.
- Develop or implement policies or practices in coordination with involved Departments needed for redesigning workflows based on evidence-based practices.
- Implement or evaluate health information technology applications, tools, processes or structures to assist nurses, physicians, and clinical support staff with data retrieval.
- Provide, support or follow-up pre-requisites needed in maintaining front end functionalities and reports in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Translate nursing and medical practice information between clinicians and IT analysts in order to accurately design and implement workflows and reports.
- Monitor physician and nurses EMR adoptability to provide timely and efficient training to reduce patient care disruption.
- Monitor proper data entry by health care professionals to ensure precise hospital database which will be used for administrative purposes (audit, statistics, review, and reporting).
- Perform other duties as assigned, to meet Departmental and Hospital goals and objectives.
- Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
- Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
- Provides or promotes people’s centered care.
- Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
Qualifications, Competences and Skills
Education: Degree in Informatics/ Medical Field/ Information Technology
Experience: 3-5 years’ work experience in Informatics/ healthcare setting
Licensure: Not Applicable
Language: Proficiency in verbal and written English Language
Computer Proficiency: Computer literacy – highly skilled with IT interest
