Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Medical Director role based in Abu Dhabi. The Medical Director will oversee clinical operations, ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services, and maintain adherence to international medical standards. Key responsibilities include leading medical teams, developing and implementing medical policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with clinicians to optimize patient care. The Medical Director will also play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement, fostering a patient-centric culture, and achieving operational excellence.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Provide strong leadership to the clinical management team
- Develop and implement the clinical strategy
- Oversee all aspects of patient safety and quality management
- Support the financial and budgetary process to assist with efficient operational management
- Maintain good clinical governance
- Building a sustainable and productive relationships to assist the general management and development of the hospital
Experience
- At least 5-8 years’ experience as Medical Director
- Extensive clinical experience with comprehensive medical knowledge and expertise.
- Proven leadership and management skills, including experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and promoting collaboration.
- Relevant medical degree and board certification in a clinical specialty; additional qualifications in healthcare management are advantageous.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrate an understanding of quality improvement processes and the ability to maintain quality/accreditation standards
- Demonstrates an understanding and application of relevant legislation within the healthcare industry
- Demonstrates an understanding of business drivers and how to apply financial controls within the clinical process
- Demonstrates solid understanding of the multi-disciplinary clinical environment, systems and related processes to enable effective and comprehensive support
- Demonstrates the ability to apply policies, procedures, requirements and regulations related to the management and administration of the clinical functions of the hospitalStrong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and operational quality management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to patient safety, service excellence, and continuous professional development.
- Experience within the UAE healthcare system is preferred but not mandatory.
