Job Responsibilities – Part‑Time Ophthalmologist
On Sharing Basis | Zia Medical Center – Dubai
Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive ophthalmologic consultations to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of eye and vision conditions.
- Perform detailed eye examinations including visual acuity testing, slit‑lamp biomicroscopy, intraocular pressure measurement, and retinal evaluation.
- Identify and diagnose medical and surgical eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, corneal diseases, ocular inflammation, and refractive errors.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
Surgical Duties
- Perform ophthalmic surgeries independently, including but not limited to:
- Cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation
- Glaucoma procedures
- Retinal surgeries (where within scope and capability)
- Corneal and lid procedures as indicated
- Ensure high standards of surgical care, safety, asepsis, and patient outcomes.
Minor Procedures & Therapeutic Interventions
- Undertake in‑clinic procedures such as chalazion removal, laser treatments, and therapeutic injections (e.g., intravitreal injections).
- Provide pre‑operative and post‑operative assessment, care, and monitoring.
Patient Education & Follow‑Up
- Educate patients on their eye conditions, surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
- Provide guidance on medications, follow‑up visits, preventive care, and lifestyle adjustments to support eye health.
- Manage post‑surgical follow‑up and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records for all patient consultations, examinations, procedures, and surgical outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with medical and ethical standards, clinic policies, and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations.
- Obtain informed consent prior to surgery and invasive procedures.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
- Coordinate with optometrists, nurses, and support staff to ensure effective patient care and clinic workflow.
- Participate in clinical discussions, case reviews, and quality improvement efforts.
Professional Development & Standards
- Uphold professionalism, patient confidentiality, and ethical practice at all times.
- Stay updated with advances in ophthalmology through continuing education and professional development.
- Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the clinic’s reputation for excellence in eye care.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: AED500.00 - AED1,000.00 per month
License/Certification:
