The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications safely and accurately, ensuring compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, providing pharmaceutical care to patients, and managing controlled medicines in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. The role supports high standards of patient safety, medication management, and quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and clinical appropriateness before dispensing.
- Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with physician prescriptions and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Provide patients with counseling on medication use, dosage, storage, precautions, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
- Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare authority regulations, pharmacy standards, and organizational policies.
- Manage controlled medicines, including receiving, storage, dispensing, record-keeping, inventory reconciliation, and disposal in accordance with applicable UAE regulations.
- Maintain controlled drug registers and ensure accurate documentation for all controlled medication transactions.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and storage conditions for all pharmaceutical products, including narcotic and controlled medications.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile controlled medicine records with physical stock.
- Report discrepancies, medication incidents, or suspected diversion in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and resolve prescription-related issues.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.
- Participate in internal audits and support inspections by relevant healthcare authorities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication safety programs, and continuing professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with applicable data privacy requirements.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
- Valid UAE Pharmacist DHA License is mandatory.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of pharmacy experience, including experience managing controlled medicines.
- Experience in hospital, community, or retail pharmacy settings is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of controlled medicine regulations, inventory management, and pharmaceutical documentation.
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
