Job Title: Purchaser – Building Materials

Role Purpose

The Purchaser – Building Materials is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring construction and building materials required for the company's trading operations. The role ensures timely procurement of quality products at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting business profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure building materials from approved local and international suppliers.
• Obtain quotations, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Purchase a wide range of building materials, including cement, steel, timber, plywood, hardware, construction chemicals, paints, waterproofing materials, plumbing and sanitary products, electrical items, tools, and safety products.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
• Coordinate with the sales, warehouse, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement and uninterrupted stock availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders based on demand forecasts and stock requirements.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and service.
• Identify alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Resolve supply chain issues, shortages, and delivery delays efficiently.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, supplier contracts, and pricing agreements.
• Monitor market trends, product availability, and fluctuations in material prices to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and supplier performance reports for management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in procurement or purchasing within the building materials or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE building materials market, suppliers, and procurement processes.
• Experience purchasing construction materials for trading or distribution companies is highly preferred.

Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED5,500.00 per month
