Job Summary
A Senior Registrar is expected to demonstrate his interest, skills and potentials for promotion or sub specialization. Responsible for performing and reporting on radiological procedures and scans assigned to him/her. Responsible to view, read, diagnose the examination done thru PAC's system and approve the medical report soon as possible after transcription finish to type it. Responsible for the care of patients whilst undergoing radiological procedures. He/ She shall perform their duties in accordance with:
- Professional medical ethics and CBAHI / JCIA standards.
- Hospital medical by-laws
- Laws of Ministry of Health in kingdom of Saudi Arabia and any other applicable regulations according with hospital quality plan.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the NMC Hospitals and Clinics.
- Responsible to practices within the framework of clinical privilege of both In-patients and Out-patients.
- Reports on X-ray procedures and scans in a systematic informative and conclusive manner.
- Report of X-ray plain examinations and special procedures and must be approved it thru PAC's system soon as possible.
- Skillfully performs and reports on fluoroscopic vascular or other diagnostic procedures. Provides consultation to medical staff on diagnostic plans and priorities. Supervises the various scanning techniques assigned to him.
- Assumes on active part in the on -call duty rotations in the department.
- Can perform specialized procedures independently commensurate to his experience and skills according to department protocols.
- Seizes every opportunity to discuss theoretical and technical aspects of radiology with consultants.
- Seeks the advice and guidance of Consultant Radiologist whenever the condition of patient merits further expertise.
- Supervises the junior staff in conducting their duties and responsibilities as designated by the Radiology department.
- Participates in the On-call Rota of the department.
- Provides a clinical follow up of patient progress and management as requested by consultants.
- Rotates through the specialized units of the Department under the supervision of consultants.
- Shares and participates in department’s educational and training activities.
- Should know the Policies and procedures of the Radiology Department and Riyadh Care Hospital by-laws and Rules and regulations.
- Responsible to educate patients /families as per their needs and to implement their whole role regarding patient / family education process as mention in patient & family education policy and procedure including documentation in patient medical record.
- They are knowledgeable about their essential role in patient and family education.
- Involves the patient/families in plan of care and respects patients/families regarding their goals and choices of patient care.
- Provides health promotion and health teaching thru methods appropriate to a patients’ developmental level, learning needs, readiness and ability to learn, language preference, culture and situations.
- Allots time necessary to assess, plan implement and evaluate patient education provided to patients/families with appropriate documentation.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Qualification
Education
- Required
- Must have University graduate medical Degree. Postgraduate qualification in Radiology.
- Master is Radiology is preferred.
- Registration in Saudi Medical Council and/or current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia
Experience
Required
At least Four (4) years’ experience in Radiology after obtaining higher qualification.
Experience in subspecialty of Radiology is preferred.
Academic affiliation is preferable.
Competencies/Skills
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
- Exhibits professionalism and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Is knowledgeable of the Medical by-laws.
