Senior Veterinary Nurse – Surgical & Operations Lead

Location: Amity Veterinary Clinic
Salary: AED 4,500 – 9,000 per month (depending on experience)

At Amity Veterinary Clinic, we’re looking for a confident, experienced Senior Veterinary Nurse who can lead from the front. This role is ideal for someone with strong operating theatre experience who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.

You’ll play a key leadership role inside the clinic — coordinating nurses, animal handlers, assistants, and support staff to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

This is not just a nursing role — we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the floor, maintain discipline and structure, and ensure every patient receives outstanding care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, diagnostics, and treatments
• Lead and coordinate the daily workflow of veterinary nurses, handlers, and support staff
• Ensure surgical theatre preparation, sterility, and post-operative protocols are maintained
• Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery during and after procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Oversee patient care standards across hospitalization and treatment areas
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and organization throughout clinical areas
• Handle and restrain animals safely and professionally
• Assist in emergency and critical care situations
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes
• Train and mentor junior nursing and support staff
• Communicate clearly with veterinarians, reception, and pet owners to ensure smooth case management
• Help maintain structure, accountability, and operational excellence within the clinic team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Nursing or related field (attested by a recognized university)
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic
• Strong surgical / operating theatre experience is essential
• Experience supervising or coordinating clinical teams is highly preferred
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy environment
• Genuine compassion and love for animals
• High attention to detail and commitment to patient care standards
