Role Description The ultrasound sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including general, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular studies, in accordance with established protocols. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating ultrasound equipment, capturing and evaluating images, and collaborating with radiologists and referring clinicians to support accurate diagnosis. The role includes maintaining equipment, documenting findings, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and adhering to infection control and quality assurance standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Manama, requiring consistent presence in the radiology and diagnostic center and active participation in multidisciplinary patient care.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Radiology, with knowledge of diagnostic imaging principles and patient care practices.
- Clinical experience in Vascular ultrasound and other sonography subspecialties, with the ability to perform and interpret standard vascular studies.
- Recognized diploma or degree in sonography, radiologic technology, or a related field, and current professional licensure as required by local regulations.
- Proficiency in operating modern ultrasound equipment, documenting findings in imaging systems, and following standardized imaging protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and work collaboratively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to patient safety, adherence to infection control standards, and ability to manage a steady workflow in a clinical setting.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of imaging techniques and best practices.
