Job Summary

The MRD Coordinator / Medical Records Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and safeguarding accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records in compliance with hospital policies, DHA regulations, JCI standards, and other applicable regulatory requirements. The role ensures proper documentation, secure storage, timely retrieval, and continuous monitoring of medical record quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:1. Record Management

  • Organize, maintain, and update patient medical records (electronic and physical files).
  • Ensure all medical records are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
  • Monitor documentation deficiencies and coordinate with physicians and clinical staff for timely completion.
  • Manage record retention, archiving, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.

2. Compliance & Regulatory Standards

  • Ensure medical records comply with hospital policies, DHA regulations, JCI standards, and other applicable legal requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, accreditation processes, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Prepare audit reports related to medical record completeness and compliance.
  • Support regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.

3. Confidentiality & Data Protection

  • Safeguard patient information and ensure strict confidentiality in handling medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws and hospital confidentiality policies.
  • Monitor access control and release of information in accordance with hospital policy.

4. Data Retrieval & Information Release

  • Provide timely access to medical records for authorized personnel (physicians, nurses, billing department, etc.).
  • Process medical record requests and release of information as per hospital policy and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure documentation is available for treatment, billing, and legal purposes.

5. Coordination & Training

  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Train staff on proper documentation standards, record-keeping procedures, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Assist in implementing improvements in medical records management systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or related healthcare field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Medical Records or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with DHA regulations and JCI standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
