Job Description Summary

The Senior IT Database Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization’s database systems, utilizing their expertise in several of the relevant technologies to ensure optimal reliability and performance of supported IT solutions at JHAH.

  • Implement configure maintain support and monitor the organizations IT database systems to ensure they are reliable stable scalable secure and perform optimally
  • Perform regular IT database systems capacity assessments to plan for any projected increase or decrease in utilization of resources
  • Ensure that IT database systems comply with relevant best practices regulatory requirements governance programs enterprise architecture standards and cybersecurity policies
  • Manage engagements with contracted vendors for IT database systems support managed services or professional services to ensure that service delivery meets the targeted scope time cost and quality constraints
  • Investigate and resolve IT database systems related incidents in compliance with the organizations relevant policies and procedures
  • Fulfill IT database systems related service requests in compliance with the organizations relevant policies and procedures
  • Evaluate and process IT demand requests involving IT database systems and support fulfillment of those that are approved in compliance with relevant policies and procedures and by following the organizations IT project management framework
  • Mentor and guide junior colleagues

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in the field of Information Technology or in a relevant field.

Professional Certifications Required

Sample of preferred certifications: .-Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) / Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) .-CompTIA Storage+ .-MySQL Database Administrator .-VMware Certified Professional .- Data Center Virtualization (VCP.-DCV) .-Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate .-AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate .-Project Management Professional (PMP) .-IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

Years of Experience

Minimum 15 years of experience in relevant field.
