The Medical Center Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a sterile, safe, and visually appealing environment throughout the clinic. This role involves the meticulous cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, clinical examination rooms, waiting areas, and administrative offices, strictly adhering to healthcare infection control protocols and local health authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Clinical & Infection Control Cleaning

  • Sanitize Examination Rooms: Clean and disinfect clinical surfaces, examination tables, medical equipment stands, and high-touch areas between patient visits and at the end of each shift.
  • Deep Cleaning Protocols: Perform terminal cleaning in specialized zones (e.g., laser rooms, minor procedure rooms, or dental/radiology bays) following established healthcare safety standards.
  • Body Fluid Management: Safely clean and disinfect areas impacted by spills of blood, bodily fluids, or hazardous materials using approved chemical solutions and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

2. Waste Management & Compliance

  • Biohazardous Waste: Safely handle, segregate, and dispose of biomedical/infectious waste into designated sharp containers and yellow biohazard bags according to local health authority regulations.
  • General Waste: Empty and reline general waste and recycling bins across waiting areas, restrooms, and administrative offices.
  • Storage Compliance: Maintain the housekeeping chemical storage room in an organized, locked state, ensuring all chemicals are clearly labeled with updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

3. General Facility Maintenance

  • Public & Waiting Areas: Regularly dust, vacuum, and mop waiting reception areas, corridors, and entrances to ensure a pristine first impression for patients.
  • Restroom Sanitation: Clean, disinfect, and restock supplies (soap, paper towels, tissue) in patient and staff restrooms multiple times daily.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and report shortages of cleaning supplies, linens, and restroom consumables to the clinic supervisor to prevent stockouts.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of cleaning experience, ideally within a medical center, clinic, hospital, or hospitality environment.
  • Infection Control Knowledge: Basic understanding of healthcare sanitation practices, cross-contamination prevention, and the correct usage of medical-grade disinfectants.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 15 kg frequently throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Language Skills: Basic English communication skills (verbal and reading) to understand chemical labels, safety signs, and instructions from clinical staff.

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
