Consultant Neuro-Ophthalmologist (Dual Training Preferred) - Abu Dhabi

A leading tertiary care center is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Neuro‑Ophthalmologist to diagnose and manage complex visual disorders arising from neurological conditions. Dual training in Pediatric Ophthalmology is strongly preferred to support both adult and pediatric neuro‑visual services. The role requires close collaboration with neurology, neurosurgery, radiology, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage optic nerve and neuro‑visual pathway disorders
  • Treat conditions including optic neuritis, papilledema, diplopia, visual field defects, and neuro‑ophthalmic emergencies
  • Interpret and correlate neuro‑imaging (MRI/CT) relevant to ophthalmic conditions
  • Work collaboratively with neurology, neurosurgery, endocrinology, and radiology
  • Provide care for both adult and pediatric neuro‑ophthalmic patients (if dual‑trained)
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and teaching activities

Requirements

  • Tier 1 qualification, such as:
  • American Board Certification
  • UK CCT
  • Canadian Fellowship
  • Australian/New Zealand Fellowship
  • Fellowship in Neuro‑Ophthalmology (dual Pediatric Ophthalmology training preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of Consultant‑level experience
  • DOH license or eligibility (or equivalent UAE/Saudi/Qatar licensing pathways)
