Lead Customs Specialist - Customs Operations

Job Description Summary Processes and procedures related to the movement and shipment of GE goods across borders.Management. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Job Description Required Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in Customs Operations and Trade Compliance within META / GCC markets.
- Strong knowledge of regional customs regulations, HS classification, valuation, rules of origin, FTAs, and import/export controls.
- Proven ability to develop and execute customs strategies that balance compliance, cost, and operational efficiency.
- Hands on experience with government customs systems, clearance processes, audits, and regulatory escalations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, Law, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Tax, and external brokers.
Minimum 5 To 7 Years Of Experience Desired Characteristics
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills in complex regulatory environments.
- Effective communicator able to translate technical customs requirements into clear business guidance.
- Experience managing customs risk, audits, disputes, and authority engagement.
- Solid project management and process improvement capability.
- Sound judgment, high integrity, and ability to provide technical guidance and informal leadership.
