Senior field operator

One of our clients in the oil and gas industry is looking for a Senior Field Operator to support their field production and well surveillance operations.

Job Title: Senior Field Operator – Production & Well Surveillance

Contract Duration: 3 years

Rotation Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Number of Positions: 3 (2 back-to-back + 1 overlapping rotation)

Location: Field in Oman

About the Role

Our client is operating a small field block in Oman and is planning to drill new development wells and reactivate old wells to increase production. They require qualified Field Production Operators to support continuous production operations and well surveillance activities. The Senior Field Operator will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, data gathering, and troubleshooting production operations in compliance with operational, HSE, and competency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations and ensure compliance with production plans
• Monitor progress and resolve technical issues on-site
• Validate PTW as area authority and ensure HSE compliance
• Prepare and supervise well commissioning and handover activities
• Conduct well surveillance: LLF, sonolog surveys, and oil sampling
• Troubleshoot artificial lift operations
• Conduct inspections, SOP compliance checks, and PTW audits
• Act as SIMOPS representative and verify LOTO isolations
• Participate in HEMP, Risk Assessment, and SOP studies
• Report unsafe acts and conditions through E-drak
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports
• Respond to abnormal operating conditions and emergencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
• 8–10+ years in upstream production operations
• 5 years as Senior Field Operator
• Strong knowledge in Process Safety, HAZID/HAZOP, and HEMP
• Proficient in reviewing P&ID, PFD, and engineering drawings
• Familiar with API, ANSI, ASME, PDO standards
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• PDO-style operational practices and HSE standards
• Capable of working safely without supervision
